Email preferences and notifications

You have the option to customize when and if you receive transactional email notifications from BILL. The notifications vary with account type and user role, and you can head to your settings to manage your notification preferences.


We're currently rolling out a fresh new look for our Settings and email preferences pages, so you may see one of 2 designs:


Manage existing email preferences

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Email preferences under You. If you do not see Email preferences under You, select Profile, then hover over Details and select Email preferences
  3. Select the edit icon
  4. Update your email notifications preferences
    • Uncheck the box for notifications you don't want to receive
    • Select the frequency for your To Do list emails
    • Note: We send other security-based alerts regarding payment confirmation, changes in company information, urgent matters regarding your account and any important BILL related emails in real-time and these cannot be turned off.
  5. Select Save

Manage new email preferences

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Email preferences under User Settings
  3. Select the edit icon
  4. Update your email notifications preferences
    • Toggle all transactional email notifications on or off
      • Note: We send other security-based alerts regarding payment confirmation, changes in company information, urgent matters regarding your account and any important BILL related emails in real-time and these cannot be turned off.
    • Uncheck the box for notifications you don't want to receive under each applicable section
    • Enable, disable, and select the frequency for your Summary email (To Do list) emails
  5. Select Save
