Xero sync error: Bill.com Money In/Out Clearing account and Bank account GL not set correctly

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when the preferences for the Money Out Clearing Account, the Money In Clearing Account, and GL Account for Bank Accounts aren't set up correctly or are set to the same accounts.

How to fix the sync error

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Preferences under Sync
  3. Select Edit
  4. Select the correct accounts for:
    • Money In Clearing - set to Bill.com Money In Clearing
    • Money Out Clearing - set to Bill.com Money Out Clearing
    • General Ledger accounts for all Bank Accounts listed
    • Note: You can't set the clearing accounts and the bank GL accounts to the same accounts
  5. Sync again
