Xero sync error: Contacts cannot be archived if they are associated with repeating invoices

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when a customer or vendor is deleted and the deletion can't sync to Xero because the contact in Xero is linked to a recurring/repeating invoice setup(s).


How to fix the sync error

  • Undelete the deleted customer/vendor
  • Delete the recurring invoice setup in Xero
  • Contact Customer Support to clear the error if the contact deletion doesn't need to sync to Xero
