Xero sync setup guide

This guide will walk through setting up the sync with Xero.

Pre setup requirements

Tracking Categories

  • If using Locations and/or Departments, they must be named Location and Department within Xero to ensure proper sync.

Connect the Sync

  1. Select the sync icon, select Setup

  2. Select Connect to Xero
    Connect to Xero
  3. Enter Xero login credentials

  4. Select the Xero company to sync with, select Allow access
    Allow access
    • If you can't select the organisation you want to sync with because it is greyed out, you may need to disconnect an existing Bill.com connection first
      1. In the Xero organisation you want to sync with, go to Connected apps in Settings
      2. Disconnect any connections with Bill.com
      3. Try the sync connection in Bill.com again
  5. Select simple sync preferences

The sync is now connected.

Accounting Preferences

To set up accounting preferences for reporting and tracking:

  1. Select Settings
  2. Under Accounting, select Preferences
  3. Select the edit icon
  4. Set preferences
  5. Select Save
  6. Select the sync icon and Sync Now to run another sync

The sync setup is now complete.
