Add or delete a customer's bank account or credit card
If a customer provides their bank account or credit card information to you, you can manually add it to their Customer record in your Bill.com account to process payments.
You must have manage customer permissions to manage a customers's bank or credit card information.

Add a customer's bank account
- Select Customers in the navigation menu
- Select the customer name
- Select More actions
- Select Bank Account
- Select Add Account
- Fill in all required fields
- Select Save
Bill.com will initiate test transactions to the bank account, which will arrive within 1-3 banking days after the bank account is entered.
Add a customer's credit card
Before adding a customer credit card, you must set up the ability to accept card payments in your Bill.com account. See the article at the bottom of this page to help set that up.
- Select Customers in the navigation menu
- Select the customer name
- Select More actions
- Select Credit cards
- Select Add Card
- Fill in all required fields
- Select Save
Delete a customer's bank account
If bank information was entered incorrectly or needs to be updated, the bank account will need to be added again; a bank account cannot be edited once saved.
- Select Customers in the navigation menu
- Select the customer name
- Select More actions
- Select Bank Account
- Select the bank account number
- Select the trash can icon
Delete a customer's credit card
If credit card information was entered incorrectly or needs to be updated, the credit card will need to be added again; a credit card number cannot be edited once saved.
- Select Customers in the navigation menu
- Select the customer name
- Select More actions
- Select Credit cards
- Select the credit card number
- Select the trash can icon
Things to know
- The description line on the test transaction debit and credit will have the company name, followed by Bill.com.
- The debit and credit amounts are the same, and less than $1
- If either the debit or credit fail, the bank account will automatically be inactivated.
- Because all bank information is encrypted once entered into Bill.com, we don't have the ability to download or export customer bank information.
