QuickBooks Desktop sync error: There was an error when modifying a ReceivePayment

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when an edit has been made to a payment that's already included in a QuickBooks deposit.

How to fix the sync error

To resolve this issue, the payment must be voided in QuickBooks Desktop. Contact QuickBooks Support for instructions on voiding the payment.
