Connect with Tax1099

BILL connects with Tax1099 to allow the quick and easy filing of 1099 information.

Note: Due to changes of the 1099-MISC form and 1099-NEC form, the box numbers for reporting certain income have been adjusted. Also due to these changes, Tax1099 integration will no longer support 1099 filings before 2020. For questions about reporting the correct box forms, please refer to the IRS website.


Mark vendors as 1099 recipients

  1. While logged in to Bill.com, select Vendors in the navigation menu
  2. Select a vendor and select Edit
  3. Select 1099 Vendor
  4. Select Save
  5. Repeat for each 1099 vendor

Map the Chart of Accounts

  1. While logged in to Bill.com, select Settings

    Select Chart of Accounts under Accounting if your Settings page looks like this: Settings Page

    Select Classifications under Accounting if your Settings page looks like this: New Settings Page
  3. Select Chart of Accounts
  4. Select the account to map to and Select edit
  5. Select the applicable 1099 form type
  6. Select the applicable 1099 Category
  7. Select Save
  8. Repeat for each account that needs to be mapped

Connect with Tax1099

  1. While logged in to Bill.com, select Settings

    Select View all under Apps if your Settings page looks like this: Settings Page

    Select App Center under Sync & Integration if your Settings page looks like this: New Settings Page
  3. In the Tax1099.com box, select Tax1099
  4. Select Connect
  5. Create a new Tax1099 account or log in to an existing Tax1099 account

Use Tax1099

  1. Log in to Tax1099
  2. Select a Bill.com company to import information from
  3. Select the tax year
  4. Select Load Data
    • If you're new to Tax1099, under Import on the left side of the page, select Bill.com to import the data
  5. After the data is loaded, the 1099 information will appear
  6. Select Edit to make sure all information is correct and up-to-date
  7. Select Next
  8. Review the 1099 data and export to Excel if needed
  9. Select Finalize
  10. If there are no errors, the 1099 data will appear under Uploaded. If there are errors, the 1099 data will appear under Not Uploaded.
  11. Fix any errors as necessary and try again
  12. Select Checkout
  13. Select the 1099s needed and select download options needed, indicating how the 1099s will be sent to the recipient
  14. Select Next
  15. Verify the address(es) and select Save List
  16. Select OK to acknowledge the message confirming when the 1099s will be sent
  17. Enter payment information and select Pay & Submit to e-file
