Update your company profile

Your company profile contains important information about the company, including your company logo, contact information, tax information, networking preferences, and more. Edit this information to manage updates.

Edit your company profile

  1. Select Settings
  2. We're currently rolling out a fresh new look for our Settings page, so you may see one of 2 designs. Please follow the steps that match what your Settings page looks like.

  3. Select the Edit icon in the top, right corner of the screen
    • Note: Select the Edit button under Display Name to update your company name, then select Save to return to the edit company profile page.
  4. Update the available fields
  5. Select Save

Company profile overview

Settings

  • Controls your company's visibility in the Network search

Company information

  • Company Name (required) - Displayed on checks, receivable invoices and notifications sent to your vendors and customers on your behalf.
  • Display Name - DBA Name (Doing Business As), alternative or secondary company name that needs to be displayed on your Network Profile
  • Company Owner (required)
  • Tax ID (required)
    • Once Tax ID is entered and saved, it is no longer visible for your protection, but can still be edited if needed
  • Tax ID Type (required)
  • Phone (required)
    • The phone number entered here is only for your company profile and isn't used for Multi-factor authentication (MFA)/2-step verification. If you'd like to change your phone number for MFA, please see the Multi-factor authentication (MFA)/2-step verification article for those steps.
  • Your Network URL
    • Provide this url to other businesses in the Network so they can connect with you to pay or receive electronic payment
      • This link can only be accessed by individuals or businesses that already have a Bill.com account
    • This url will default to your Company Name; if you are using a Display Name that's different from your Company Name, you'll need to manually edit this url to the show the Display Name
  • Company Logo
  • About - add information about your company; this will show up in your Network profile

To remain compliant with laws and regulations regarding money movement, each business must provide the Primary Company Owner's Name and Tax ID Number (TIN).

Company location

  • Country (set to United States, not editable)
  • Address (required)
    • Use as a company's mailing address is checked by default, uncheck to specify an alternate address that will be printed on checks.
    • The company address must be a physical street address, as we use this for verification in compliance with federal and state laws.

Add an alternative mailing address

  1. Select Settings

  3. Select the Edit icon
  4. Under Primary Contact Address And Phone, check Use different address and phone
  5. Enter the mailing address
    • The mailing address must be a physical street address, as we use this for verification in compliance with federal and state laws.
  6. Select Save

Other information

  • Industry (required)
  • Business type (required)
  • Purpose of Use (required, though some accounts won't see this option)
  • Number of Employees
  • Timezone
  • Payment Network ID (assigned upon account creation, not editable)

Check the audit trail

You can review changes to your company profile and some settings in the audit trail of the company profile.

  1. Select Settings

  3. Hover over Details and select Audit trail for non-sync changes, or select Sync audit trail for sync changes

Audit trail details are displayed in columns:

  • When: The date stamp of when the change occurred
  • Who: The user or action that caused the change
  • Type: The kind of action
  • What: The item that was updated
  • Field: The actual field that was updated
  • Old value: What was listed before the update
  • New Value: What the value was updated to

Things to know

  • You must have Manage Company permissions to update your company profile
  • To update your Network Connection Manager

    3. Select the name of the user to designate
    4. Select Make Connection Manager next to Connection Manager
